Memory Consolidation Architecture

Built enterprise RAG system using Claude Sonnet 4.5's 1M-token context window, inspired by hippocampal memory consolidation patterns. Hybrid search combines dense vector retrieval (semantic understanding) with sparse keyword matching (exact citations)—mirrors CA3 recurrent networks (pattern completion) and dentate gyrus (pattern separation) pathways.

Pinecone vector database indexes 4,200 legal documents with metadata filtering. Claude Sonnet 4.5 processes entire case files (up to 85,000 tokens) in single requests—no chunking means zero context loss across document boundaries. Client reported 94% reduction in retrieval errors versus their previous GPT-4 Turbo system with 128K context.
